Baby Chick Designs artwork is made by utilizing the popular giclee method of printing which is now widely used in museums, galleries, and the fine art community.  "Giclee" is a french word that means "spraying of ink" in English.  Our original  (watercolor or oil painting) artwork is scanned into a high resolution digital image which is printed using professional ink jet printers that spray tiny droplets of ink onto a canvas or archival fine art paper. Our canvas prints are then sprayed with a high quality protective coating to keep it safe from enviromental factors such as humidity, water, etc. This protective coating allows our canvas artwork to be wrapped without any glass covering, making it lightweight and safe for a child's environment. 

The resulting giclee canvas wraps and fine art prints are difficult to distinguish from the original artwork, whether watercolor or oil painting, keeping the integrity of the original intact. And, glicee canvas and fine art paper has archival qualities of up to 100 years for preserving your investment for future generations to enjoy.

The result is a beautiful piece of fully assembled artwork that requires no framing, no matting, and no glass covering...making it lightweight, safe for children's spaces, and easy to coordinate with any decor. For a more affordable option, Baby Chick Designs provides fine art prints for most of it's collections. This allows the customer to purchase a beautiful piece of artwork at an affordable price. All of our prints are  printed on archival fine art paper in standard sizes such as 10x10 or 11x14 in order to fit any ready-made standard size frame, which saves the purchaser on custom framing costs.  Our fine art prints are available in our Etsy shop www.babychickdesigns.etsy.com.
