Baby Chick Designs is the brain child of a mother and daughter who discovered that decorating children's bedrooms with tasteful, timeless art is not an easy task. Harriet Babchick, established artist in the Houston, Texas area decided to make some watercolors for Ellen, her granddaughter's new bedroom. After seeing the beautiful, fine art watercolors, she and her daughter Debbie decided that they must make them available to other families to enjoy!

Harriet Babchick
Artist and Co-Owner of Baby Chick Designs

Harriet received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drawing/Painting in 1981, and her Master of Fine Arts degree in Drawing/Painting in 1986 from the University of Houston. She was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Houston, and then went on to teach at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, Houston, TX, the Art Institute of Houston, and The Art League of Houston. Harriet has shown her work in several galleries and many exhibits through the years. She actively maintains a studio working in oils, watercolor, and pastel. In addition to the collections seen in Baby Chick Designs, her work consists of narrative paintings, still lives, and portraits.

Debbie Weinstein
Sales & Marketing / Co-Owner of Baby Chick Designs

Mother of two, wife, and daughter of the artist, Debbie has worked in various forms of marketing for her entire career. She has held managment positions in marketing communications and marketing research for large marketing research firms, as well as consumer packaged good companies. After the birth of her children, she worked hard to find jobs in her field working from home so she could spend time with her family. Baby Chick Designs allows her to continue to do just that and allows her the pleasure of offering her mother's wonderful work for other families to enjoy.
